The story behind
Passionate about horses, Jean-Louis Clerc put his evocative powers and incomparable style at their service. Ever since meeting Robert Dumas in 1950, his light brushstrokes and splashes of color have hit the mark on the Maison's scarves and on this Paddock where owners, jockeys, gamblers and elegant women meet before the race. Top hats and wide-brimmed hats nod in greeting, silk gowns and jackets are on display, while a few horses warm up. The picture is so lively that you can almost hear the babel of their conversations
