The story behind

For the first time, Hermès has completely covered a leather box adorned with the hand-painted Myriade design, consisting of a multitude of delicate lines that gracefully encircle the box. To create this piece, a pounce pattern is created, puncturing tiny holes to recreate each design. The pattern is then placed on the leather sheet and a dusting of charcoal powder is applied, revealing the design to the skilled artisan. It is then time to prepare the ink. The artisan practices their technique before delicately applying the paint to the change leather tray freehand. Skill and a highly-trained eye are essential in order to avoid mistakes and obtain a meticulous result. As different-colored inks offer different levels of coverage, sometimes two coats need to be applied. After drying for several days, it is time for the last stage, which involves delicately removing the charcoal powder from the leather using sheepskin. Three formats of this box are available: one for 4 watches and jewelry, another for 6 watches, and one for cuff links and 8 watches.
