DISCOVER HERMÈS SAN DIEGO
Hermès is delighted to announce the reopening of its store at Westfield UTC mall in San Diego California on 16 July 2026. Initially opened in 2008, the new space reveals the house’s sixteen métiers within a bright and airy environment.
A bespoke ceramic brick façade in a terracotta tone covers the store’s exterior, blending in with the large windows which offer guests a glimpse from the outside and invite them to discover the colorful interior space.
At the entrance to the store, a warm palette inspired by natural fiber tones highlights Hermès’ emblematic ex-libris, brought to life by the house’s Grecques lighting. Visitors are welcomed into the silk universe in the center, perfume and beauty areas with fashion jewelry on the right, and home collections in a raised area on the left, delineated using color gradient flooring. The store then flows into the leather goods and equestrian collections, presented in a more vivid environment with contrasting carpets and walls, before leading into a vibrant private lounge furnished with custom-made pieces.
The central space houses jewelry and watches set against woven cotton and raffia walls in pink and green shades. This décor continues into men’s and women’s shoes surrounded by men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections.
Designed by the Parisian architecture agency RDAI, the interior flows through a playground of colors, textures and geometric shapes, reflecting the transition from one métier to the next, while combining tradition and innovation.
A selection of artworks from the Émile Hermès Collection and the Hermès Collection of Contemporary Photographs complements the store’s décor with a nod to the Californian way of life. Contemporary works, such as French photographer Cécile Bortoletti’s palm tree photographs, embody this atmosphere, while Italian-Australian artist Lisa Sorgini’s Heatwave in Montenegro reinforces this impression of a trip to the seaside. This new store invites loyal customers and new visitors to discover Hermès’ timeless creations and craftsmanship in a colorful, light-filled environment.
