The story behind
Among its treasures, the Émile Hermès collection includes a miniature Brazilian saddle dating from the early 20th century, which provided the inspiration for Christine Henry's design. The artist replaced the embossed leather motifs with vibrant miniature vignettes, where birds, butterflies and dragonflies flutter through floral gardens, while a tiny horse gallops towards the rising sun amidst towering hibiscus. The ornamental delicacy of this design, and the artisanal heritage it evokes, make it truly enchanting.
