I tre giochi di prestigio

Sequence 2. LIGHT - Georges Méliès

An experiential pop-up store is open on via Condotti in Rome from 23 May to 8 September 2018.
A scenario by matali crasset and Stéphane Corréard.
  • Roman Illusions

Until December 2018, the via Condotti store in Rome offers marvels dedicated to the quirky world of three fascinating French inventors, namely Robert-Houdin, Méliès and Roussel. Their playful, offbeat creations are reflected in the works of contemporary artists Louise Hervé and Chloé Maillet, Yves Netzhammer and Jean-Michel Alberola, and echo curiosities from the Émile Hermès Collection. Here is the second chapter of this magic trilogy.
  • LIGHT - Georges Méliès

This magic theatre stages the shimmering world of illusionist and filmmaker Georges Méliès. Allusions and illusions appear in equal measure, while past objects and present accessories act in an interplay of light with wallpaper designs celebrating the scenery that Méliès painted himself. This cinematic poetry imbues the exhibition place, the Galleria del Prestigio, with a sense of freedom and luminosity. Here sculptures, videos and drawings by Yves Netzhammer converse with Méliès’s films.
