  • Roman Illusions

Until December 2018, to celebrate the art of play, the via Condotti store in Rome has been transformed into a cabinet of curiosities dedicated to the quirky world of three spellbinding inventors: Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin, Georges Méliès and Raymond Roussel. In three steps and three themes, their playful, offbeat creations respond to the works of contemporary artists Louise Hervé and Chloé Maillet, Yves Netzhammer, and Jean-Michel Alberola, and echo objects from the Émile Hermès collection.
  • Objects with Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin

This magic capsule showcases the inventive world of illusionist Jean-Eugène Robert-Houdin. Amid the magician’s automatons and animated gloves is the Arceau Le Temps Suspendu timepiece, along with a pocket watch from the Émile Hermès collection. These timeless objects resonate with artists Louise Hervé and Chloé Maillet, whose work draws inspiration from history, archaeology and fiction.
