The story behind
In 1952, Robert Dumas, CEO of Hermès at that time, noticed an advertisement for a company specializing in boat lighting. Always on the lookout for new talent, he contacted Breton designer Pierre Peron and pitched the idea of a scarf to him. This marked the beginning of a close collaboration and a history of art and friendship. Inspired by traditional fishing, this scarf, first produced in 1973, features colorful boats with hypnotic stripes in a maze of ropes. A graphic, ocean-fresh tribute to the men of the sea.
