The Story behind
Based on the design of the Cliquetis scarf
Inspired by antique pieces belonging to the Émile Hermès collection, the scarf's fan-shaped composition was first designed by Julie Abadie in 1972 and is now available in new colorways. Hunting knives were once engraved with symbols: hunting horns, anchors, suns or shells were used to identify the different crews, and hung from cavalrymen's belts thanks to snap hooks decorated with cords and tassels. In the bottom right corner, we can see a sabretache. These flat leather bags, which were also attached to belts, were used for carrying small essential objects or even a little food.
