HERMÈS REVEALS AN ENTICING NEW DESIGN FOR THE HOUSE’S
FIRST PERFUME AND BEAUTY STORE,
LOCATED IN THE RIYADH PARK MALL
Hermès is delighted to invite visitors to discover the new Hermès Perfume and Beauty store in the Riyadh Park Mall, the very first Hermès address in Saudi Arabia. The store, located on the ground floor, features an expansive and open facade that reveals a luminous and inviting environment in which to discover the Hermès Perfume and Beauty métiers.
Envisaged by the Parisian architecture agency RDAI, the design draws on the richness of the local culture and the beauty of the surrounding desertscape. Unique circular architectural gestures, like the central column and sculptural lines that are carved into the ceilings and the floors, evoke the serenity of ancestral symbolism.
The store is lit up by a warm colour palette, which graduates from sand, to honey, amber, and saffron, and is enhanced by the minerality of natural materials that anchor the space. Walls of sand-coloured travertine, which graduate from a hand-hewn effect to a polished sophisticated finish, a nod to the carved treasures and natural rock formations in the historic Al 'Ulá desert, frame the store. While terrazzo floors and the Hermès architectural signatures remain a feature underfoot.
To amplify a sense of spaciousness the facade is open, without doors, so that an expansive and eye-catching selection of the perfume and beauty collections, displayed in custom, floor-to-ceiling cedar veneer cabinets, is visible from all angles. Inside to the left, is the Hermessence collection, an emblem of the creative freedom of the house. This locale will be the unique store in Saudi Arabia for the limited-edition release of the Hermessence fragrance Agar Ébène Calligraphy, which features the words of Nabati poet Rashid Al Khadar calligraphed by the artist Mohammed Mandi Al Tamimi. A wider olfactory offer for both women and men, is also highlighted, including Terre d’ Hermès & Twilly d’ Hermès lines and other pillar fragrances of the House, such as the Parfums-Jardins collection, while the beauty métier with Rouge Hermès, Rose Hermès, Les Mains Hermès and Hermès Plein Air lines spans the right hand side of the store.
From the two main axes at the entrance, visitors can see a private consultation room with its lustrous degradé fabric walls and parquet floors, a perspective that gives the store further depth and invites discovery. This intimate salon is fitted out with comfortable sofas and elegantly appointed makeup counters with mirrors, allowing visitors to explore and try on the full expression of the Hermès Beauty colour palette and a personalized and immersive fragrance discovery. Off to the left is another alcove enclosed with curved walls that echo the circular rhythm of the store design. This space houses an engraving space, offering customization year-round, as well as the cashier counter. The space is fitted with bespoke decorative features and designs that add character such as a circular-shaped wall piece that recalls the desert sun.
Throughout the store, such personalized touches are amplified by a selection of artworks from the Emile Hermès Collection that graces the walls, including 19th Century illustrations or an Arabian horse and a desert feline that link the cultural history of the House with the iconography of the region.
The new Hermès Perfume and Beauty store in Riyadh is a dynamic and inviting sensory environment that marries the uniqueness of this locale with the Parisian house’s colourful sense of creativity and commitment to fine craftsmanship.
