The story behind
A happy encounter between two legendary Hermès designs that meet on a scarf and share the space equally. On one side L’Instruction du roy: through an interlacing of bits and reins, curves and scrolls, Henri d’Origny recounts the teaching of Antoine de Pluvinel, equerry to King Louis XIII. Mindful of the horse’s wellbeing, he extolled the virtues of gentleness and understanding in his work L’Instruction du roy en l’exercice de monter à cheval. With Casques et plumets, the other design in this composition, Julie Abadie pays homage to the French cavalry and reproduces nineteenth-century plumed helmets.
