Women’s Pre-Autumn Show 2019
In a setting filled with strange and poisonous exotic flowers, encased inside glass display cabinets, the Women’s Pre-Autumn Show 2019 redefines the infinite power of the feminine.
An equestrian air
Equestrian details structure the looks. A coat in blue-black deerskin and lambskin, a trench coat in terracotta leather, a car coat in coral wool jacquard, jodhpur-style shorts: the air is assertive, and riding boots lengthen the pace.
The Hermès woman moves through the winter. She ties the belt of a Sienna-coloured Canadian coat with sheepskin collar and Clou Médor covered buttons, or strides out in all-denim, reinvented with a parka in indigo cotton and flannel, five-pocket trousers and riding boots.
A decisive look
The line is pure, the look decisive. In Veronese green, silk becomes feline, in a dress made of five Jungle Love scarves. In imperial yellow, a calfskin suede dress is studded with Clous Médor in palladium-finish metal. And in black silk jacquard, wide straps draw a graphic and definite shoulder line.
Riding boots take evening classes, in green or blush-red calfskin suede, while ankle boots rise to great heights, rubber sole, calfskin suede, cut-outs in ribbed technical canvas.
Inspired by school books, in former times tied together with a belt, this new bag in Barénia Faubourg calfskin is carried at arm’s length, for a firmly nonchalant look. As is the Lindy mini bag, rectangular and supple, in Clémence bullcalf, in ebony.
Hermès fine jewellery is an ode to the body in movement. The links of the Fouet necklace, in rose gold, diamonds and black spinels, articulate and mould to the décolleté. The matt black of jade stones in the Niloticus Lumière necklace, highlighted with rose gold and a diamond pavé, evoke the scales of a crocodile.
The music of the show
"What I try to cultivate is the velvety beauty of sound."
Jean-Benoît Dunckel, a member of the group Air, composed the music for the runway show, performed live by the musicians of the Sinfonia Pop Orchestra.
