The story behind

This long cardigan in twillaine incorporates the “Boucles et Galons du Tsar” scarf design created for Hermès by Wlodek Kaminski in 2011, using a technique for remeshing silk with a jersey knit. A new, fine cashmere yarn has been used here for a soft and delicate feel. The back of the jumper features a storm flap, the extra piece of fabric typically found on the shoulders of a trench coat, giving the model fluidity and femininity.

The story: the “Boucles et Galons du Tsar” motif pays tribute to Émile-Maurice Hermès’ journey to Russia in 1898. This expedition enabled the founder’s grandson to cement relations between Hermès and the Russian aristocracy.
