The story behind

This equestrian-inspired jumper is knitted with silk and cotton thread in a double yarn jersey fabric giving consistency to the knit. This twillaine, in which silk is remeshed to knitted brushed wool, is a variation on the “Brides de Gala” scarf. Silk stripes echo the colorful straps on the scarf and colored patches match its hues, giving this model a sporty look.

The story: bold and elegant, “Brides de Gala” is one of Hermès most famous scarves. Designed in 1957 by Hugo Grygkar, it represents the bridles ordered by Emperor Maximilian of Austria in 1860 and pays tribute to the royal history of the house’s saddlery.
