Condotti | Hermès

I tre giochi di prestigio
Sequence 3. Words -Raymond
Roussel

A time capsule settles at via Condotti in Rome from 19th September to 27th October 2018. A scenario by Matali Crasset and Stéphane Corréard.
  • Roman Illusions

Until October 2018, the via Condotti store in Rome offers marvels dedicated to the quirky world of three fascinating French inventors, namely Robert-Houdin, Méliès and Roussel. Their playful, offbeat creations are reflected in the works of contemporary artists Louise Hervé and Chloé Maillet, Yves Netzhammer and Jean-Michel Alberola, and echo curiosities from the Émile Hermès Collection. Here is the last chapter of this magic trilogy.
  • WORDS – Raymond Roussel

The journey starts in a capsule that evokes a gypsy caravan resembling the one designed and used by the writer, poet and inventor Raymond Roussel for his travels through Alsace and Switzerland in 1925. Seat, blanket, folding bed, tableware, trunks: the stage is set for a successful, stationary, journey. Games of logic, word games and passwords pay tribute to Raymond Roussel in a sequence that ends with the vibrant works of Jean-Michel Alberola.
