The story behind

Caty Latham’s design is modeled on the dolman worn by the Cavalry of Napoleon III’s Imperial Guard. Here, this richly ornamented jacket is transformed into a bandana in a two-tone composition bordered with polka dots, stars and palmettes. The arabesque braiding – named “Brandebourg” after the city of Brandenburg, Germany where it originates – transforms the simplest outfit into a sumptuous garment. The designer was inspired by an album of military uniforms, insignia and accessories in the Émile Hermès collection.
