      The story behind

At the beginning of the 1960s, Robert Dumas, then president of Hermès, was entranced by the catalogues of traditional tassel-makers, and suggested Françoise Héron create a scarf dedicated to these ornamental trimmings. The artist decided to suspend a sumptuous array of pompoms and ropes of every kind and size on simple hooks fixed to wooden rails in her design. Tassel-making is a skill that transcends centuries and trends. In this scarf the design is reinterpreted in the form of a quadri – presented on a quartet of four coloured squares.
