The story behind

Nineteenth-century whips and switches share the space in this orderly yet easy composition. Whip-handles are embellished with straps, globes and dog or horse heads aligned in a strict diagonal of finely carved ivory and wood. Braided leather straps intertwine in lively swirls across the surface. Virginie Jamin is one of the designers who likes to draw inspiration from the Émile Hermès collection. Inspired by an early 19th century trade catalog, her rich talent brought this design to life. The scarf is reinvented here as a two-tone bandana with a border of diamonds, polka dots and stars.
