      The story behind

Nathalie du Pasquier left Bordeaux, France for Milan, Italy at a very young age. The Memphis movement was gradually coalescing into life around Ettore Sottsass, with a central focus on design and a determination to shatter the accepted norms of the time, thanks to a free-wheeling aesthetic rooted in bright, bold color. As a co-founder of the movement, Nathalie du Pasquier designed carpets, textiles, furniture and objects. Towards the end of the 1980s, she devoted herself to painting. Gradually, her compositions distanced themselves from the depiction of real objects to focus on the play of pure geometry and color.
Beta is the second letter of the Greek alphabet, and the second carré born of the artist’s encounter with the House of Hermès.
